We’re looking for a strategic and driven leader to take full ownership of our VIC/TAS sales operation. In this pivotal role, you’ll steer the region toward achieving and exceeding sales and profitability targets, while shaping and executing effective mid‑term growth strategies in collaboration with the HVAC management team.
As our State Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening relationships with key customer accounts and driving the continued expansion of Panasonic’s Specialist HVAC category. Your leadership will ensure our teams, partners and customers are supported, informed and positioned for success.
This role offers variety, responsibility and impact—you’ll lead day‑to‑day operations, develop strategic sales initiatives, and take on additional projects that contribute to the broader business objectives.
The key responsibilities we would trust you with:
- Lead, coach and develop the VIC/TAS sales team to achieve quarterly and annual sales, profit and growth targets.
- Oversee end‑to‑end sales operations including PSI ownership, forecasting accuracy, CRM pipeline management and daily performance tracking.
- Build strong, long‑term customer relationships and drive new business development across priority HVAC market segments.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans, sales strategies and growth initiatives in collaboration with management and marketing teams.
- Manage financial and commercial processes including pricing, contracts, credit limits, new account setup and accurate, timely administration.
- Lead the development and execution of advertising, promotional and marketing activities to support sales goals.
- Maintain deep product, competitor and market knowledge, acting as a product champion and providing insights to guide business decisions.
- Represent Panasonic across industry events, customer engagements and hosted visits while upholding company values and professional standards.
The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most to the role:
- Formal qualifications in Sales, Account Management, Business or Leadership (preferred), supported by strong sales and people‑management experience.
- Proven background in the Australian HVAC industry, with the ability to implement successful sales strategies and drive profitable growth.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer‑relationship skills, with a track record of building long‑term, loyal partnerships.
- Advanced computer proficiency across Outlook, Excel, BI tools, ERP and CRM systems, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- High levels of initiative, motivation and problem‑solving ability, with strong planning, time‑management and influencing skills.
- A collaborative, positive team player who demonstrates integrity, accountability and consistently sets high performance standards.
