Panasonic Australia is searching for a Supply Chain Specialist to be initially positioned within our international logistics function and then, in line with Panasonic’s commitment to developing well rounded supply chain professionals, expand your expertise across our warehouse and domestic transport operations functions.
This is an ideal role for a supply chain professional with experience in international logistics and personal career objective to gain cross functional exposure and a desire to master other functional disciplines within the supply chain.
This role is located at our Macquarie Park office and tasked with supporting our Consumer, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Mobile Solutions sales divisions.
The primary goal of this role is to ensure Panasonic’s supply chain function effectively ‘delivers’ to its customers’ expectations.
The key responsibilities we would trust you with:
- Ensure all import and export consignments are accurately processed within the guaranteed timeframe (Ocean & Air).
- Co-ordinate inbound deliveries direct to customers or our own warehouses, with specific responsibility to manage Freight Forwarders and transport companies to ensure service quality.
- Ensure our suppliers provide services in line with the agreed service levels, where performance is reviewed and opportunities for continuous improvement identified and actioned
- Enforce due diligence and compliance principles are applied in supplier invoice validation, approval and cost allocation.
- Ensure compliance with Customs Regulations by conducting all activities in accordance with the Panasonic’s Internal Customs Compliance Program (ICP).
- Carry a strong commitment to expand specialist international logistics skills into other supply chain functions such as transport and warehouse functions.
The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most to the role:
- TAFE or similar qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain related activity
- Exposure to the day-to-day management of core supply chain discipline within the Australian market, with experience / specialisation in international logistics seen as a distinct advantage.
- Five years’ working experience with sophisticated systems environment – Essential.
For example: - ERP (SAP), Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or Transport Management System (TMS) and the Microsoft suite of tools, specifically excel - Essential (and Power BI desirable)
- Ability to monitor own performance against clear objectives and manage workload independently while maintaining high standards of productivity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
